Evelyn’s Shaved Steak Sandwiches

  1. Shaved steak info:
    • I like to buy my shaved steak at Bogner Quality Meat in Manchester or Vernon.
    • You can buy a frozen 5 lb. block if you want the best deal, but I usually get a couple of pounds from the meat case.
  2. How to make:
    1. Put a little butter or margarine (or Pam spray) or olive oil on a frying pan or non-stick griddle.
    2. Add enough shaved steak to cover the pan. (Don’t put too much on the pan – it should be single layer.)
    3. Fry meat until no longer pink.
    4. Cover the cooked meat with slices of cheese. Let the cheese melt.
    5. Once the cheese is melted, scoop up and put on roll.
    6. Enjoy with your favorite chips.
  3. Extras:
    1. You can also fry up onions and peppers to put on top of your sandwich.
    2. I like to fry my meat and cheese a little longer than normal so that the cheese gets a little crispy.
