Marnie’s mother Dini got this recipe from a friend when they lived in Illinois. It’s a recipe that travels well! Tom makes this cake frequently and uses many different type cake mixes, white, yellow, French vanilla. He also uses vanilla pudding or French vanilla pudding, they all come out great!


Marnie’s Cinnamon Cake

Prep Time 15 mins Cook Time 45 mins Total Time 1 hr



  1. Mix Cinnamon + Sugar together in separate bowl

    • Combine above ingredients and mix together for 8 minutes (Use timer)
    • Pour 1/3 of mixed batter into greased tube pan
    • Sprinkle cinnamon/sugar mix over batter, completely cover batter
    • Add 1/3 more of mixed batter, sprinkle sugar mix over batter
    • Add final 1/3 of mixed batter, sprinkle remaining sugar mix over batter
    • Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes
    • Let cool in pan. To remove cake from pan, place dinner plate over top of pan, flip pan over and then place second dish over bottom of cake and flip back and leave on dish. Extra cinnamon sugar will fall off top of cake.  Marnie suggest that you do flipping over kitchen sink.
