My Uncle John, the chef, was notorious for not having any written recipes. When he was given a special culinary medal in Paris, the Vancouver newspaper did an article on him & pressured him for one of his recipes. This one is one that we make for our traditional Christmas brunch.

Nikki’s Banana French Toast

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Combine eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla/rum, cinnamon, nutmeg, & orange zest

  2. Spread Nutella between two slices of French bread

  3. Place sliced bananas on Nutella. Close like a sandwich

  4. Dip both sides in egg mixture

  5. Place in a lightly greased frying pan. Turn when brown

  6. Serve with maple syrup or sliced strawberries and whipped cream or any type of desired dessert
