Marie’s Dinner Rolls-version 1

Making the rolls - Preheat oven to 350

  1. Bread machine method (use instant yeast):
    • Place all ingredients in bread machine pan, select Dough setting, and press Start. 
      • When dough has risen long enough, the machine will beep. 
    • Turn off bread machine, remove bread pan, and turn out dough onto floured or oiled countertop or cutting board.
  2. OR mixer method (use regular yeast):
    • Warm water to 105-115 degrees and add yeast and pinch of sugar. 
    • Let proof 5-10 minutes. 
    • Then add to mixer along with egg, salt, sugar, powdered milk and enough flour to make soft dough. 
    • Knead until soft and elastic. 
    • Place in greased, large bowl.  Cover. 
    • Let rise in warm place till double in bulk.  Turn out dough onto floured or oiled countertop or cutting board.
  3. After dough has risen...
    • Split risen dough in ½ and roll each half into a circle. 
    • Cut like a pie into 8 pieces and roll up each piece into a crescent shape and place on cookie sheet. 
    • Let rise again until double. 
    • Brush w/beaten egg for nice sheen. 
    • Sprinkle w/poppy seeds. 
    • Bake 17-20 minutes at 350 on greased cookie sheet until golden brown.
