  1. Soak beans overnight.

    In morning, par boil 10 minutes with teaspoon of baking soda.

    Rinse beans in cold water.  Put 1/2 of beans into 2 quart bean pot.

    Layer 1/2 of diced salt pork and 1/2 of diced onion.  Put remaining beans into pot, add rest of salt pork.

    Mix other ingredients with hot water (enough to bring liquid to top of beans) and pour over beans.

    300 oven for 6 hours.  Add water as necessary to keep beans moist.
